This article is disturbing and hits home, as I myself was once caught up in the system taking hostage s. I started my sentence at 2 years plus a day and ended adding over 5 and a half years to my sentence for 3 separate hostage taking incidents. Renee and myself are not exactly few and far between. Alot of young women get caught up in the system and its true, its not like we are all treated very kindly. I myself have been physically attacked on numerous occasions by CSC staff. I have also witnessed alot of other assaults on inmates. Renee is one of the kindest, caring, humerous woman I know. like myself she was young and was is a producy of her environment. Im amazed she hasnt been diagnosed with isolated induced phyzophrinia,as Ive witnessed so mant times, after all she has been in segregation for over six years!!! I feel that that is inhumane and cruel and unusual punishment! I understand Renees frustration and the urges to take hostages as her last resort. If her voice and others are not heard about the abuse that goes on against inmates the cycle will never end!
